This is a terrible product!

First it came broken. When they ship the new one it never worked properly, and we're talking about a skillet here! Everything gets glued on it no matter how hard you try to "cure" the skillet. It's on the garbage now.

As a Southern cook, cast iron is essential in my kitchen. This pan will serve you well. It cooks on high heat, in both the oven and on the stove top. Great for baking cornbread or searing steaks on high heat.



Cast iron is not non-stick (don't know where that came from). You want to first heat your pan and then add oil or butter.



Never use soap on it; that is one secret to keep it from rusting. Only wash it out with water and leave the oil/fats intact. Dry it immediately with paper towels after use; then put it on a burner on low heat and let it sit for about 3-5 minutes, then turn off the heat. This gets any residual moisture out of the pan. Let it sit on the burner until the burner and pan are cold, then put the pan away. From time to time, season per directions.



If you take care of it, this pan will last your lifetime.

great skillet. keep it oiled and don't wash all that seasoning out with soap.

SIMPLE ROSEMARY POTATOES:



- new potatoes (the little guys in the store. come in all colors)

- kosher salt

- pepper

- fresh rosemary



wash the potatoes, and cut them in half. toss them with salt and pepper. chop up the fresh rosemary sprigs, and toss that in too...



put potatoes in skillet , cut side down. bake in oven for 30 minutes or so, or until tender and golden brown on the cut side.
